O Vermelho da Rua - Streets in Red

O vermelho da rua é uma instalação de duas arquitectas austríacas, Sandra Janser e Elisabeth Koller. Este é um exemplo que certamente vai inspirar os alunos, fazê-los imaginar a sua rua com outra cor, dar-lhes a conhecer a realidade da possibilidade de fazer intervenções fantásticas no espaço público e perceber o impacto que uma cor pode ter no espaço e na experiência do dia-a-dia de qualquer pessoa.

Streets in red is an installation of the two austrian architects Sandra Janser e Elisabeth Koller. This is one more great example that will certainly inspire students to imagine their street in a different color, will give them the knowledge of the real possibility in making these kind of interventions in the public space, to understand the impact of one color in a space and in the day-to-day experience of the people.

Paul Klee

Paul Klee (Münchenbuchsee, 18 de dezembro de 1879 — Muralto, 29 de junho de 1940) foi um pintor e poeta suíço naturalizado alemão. O seu estilo, grandemente individual, foi influenciado por várias tendências artísticas diferentes, incluindo o expressionismo, cubismo, e surrealismo. Ele foi um estudante do orientalismo. Klee era um desenhista nato que realizou experimentos e, conseqüentemente, dominou a teoria das cores, sobre o quê ele escreveu extensivamente. Suas obras refletem seu humor seco e, às vezes, a sua perspectiva infantil, seus ânimos e suas crenças pessoais, e sua musicalidade. Ele e seu amigo, o pintor russo Wassily Kandinsky, também eram famosos por darem aulas na escola de arte e arquitetura Bauhaus.

O Modernismo em Portugal, entre outros, ficou marcado pelo pioneirismo de Amadeo Souza Cardoso com uma profícua pesquisa plástica que percorreu as vanguardas do Fauvismo ao Futurismo, só interrompida pela morte prematura do pintor.
Acerca da sua exposição "Abstraccionismo" Almada Negreiros afirmou que Amadeo é a primeira descoberta de Portugal na Europa do séc. XX. Amadeo estabelece a síntese entre o espaço pictórico cézarianno, pela geometrização das formas e um tratamento simplificado da cor que o aproxima das correntes abstractas vindouras. São aspectos que nos remetem para o Orfismo e para a influência de Robert Delaunay e Frank Kupka. Ancorado teoricamente ao futurismo Amadeo adoptou as formas ao contexto nacional, porque estabelece a vanguarda futurista e o modernismo português.

Good News -ART LA, New Los Angeles International Contemporary Art Fair

ART LA, the New Los Angeles International Contemporary Art Fair, takes place at the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport,
January 23 - 25 2009. The fair presents a select roster of 60 top international and Los Angeles based galleries representing an informed cross-section of today's contemporary art trends and directions.

The exhibiting galleries at ART LA are an even balance of established blue chip and emerging galleries, all presenting the most progressive, international art work being produced today. Half of the exhibitors hail from the immediate Los Angeles area, and half are from the United States and abroad.

The fair is designed to spotlight the Los Angeles art scene and its prominence within current international artistic trends. The fair brings influential international galleries and their artists work for the interested art patron and collector alike to enjoy. The finest examples of contemporary art work will be available for view and sale.

The weekend of ART LA 2009 has been expanded to include a full auxiliary programming series. Special exhibitions, performances, conversations and premiere film screenings will be staged at the Barker Hangar and throughout the city during the run of the fair.
